Some very good points here, along with the usual ill-informed and stereotyped views that I've come to expect.
The best way that I could describe British food would be simple, and in my view many people dislike it for that very reason. Admittedly, some of the best food I've had has been in Italy and Texas but nothing beats a simple, tasty Sunday Roast in my opinion.
Part of he stereotype comes from the past, whilst it's also been added to by the cheap, processed, low quality rubbish that's served in many big cities and in chain restaurants throughout the country. Like others have said, British food is fantastic if you go to the right places. However, the same concept can apply to other countries. I'm not going to try and argue that we have the best food, but it certainly isn't the worst and I'd challenge anybody who believes that to be true!
