In America it is widely served on a styrofoam plate with a plastic knife and fork and as such appears to be treated with less respect and enjoyment.
That can be the case at a roadhouse/lobster shack/BBQ/eat-at-a-picnic-table place, but rarely seen in your average diner or pub - any place with table service.

(Applies to a styrofoam/paper/plastic, etc.)
