I much prefer TG657 myself. But much better still is TG693 (the flight from LAX that stops over in ICN) if it's available on the day you're flying. You're correct that on TG635 you'll get two meals. But who can eat two meals in 6 hours? TG635 used to get an older plane, but I think it's one of the most recent A330's these days. Still I prefer the B777-200 over any of TG's A330's, old or new. Anyways, it's much more enjoyable in my mind without needing to stop over and waste an hour on the ground at TPE. Breaking up the flight into those two short segments doesn't allow you to enjoy the flight as much. If my memory serves me, you'll get the amenity kit on either flight.
