Ok...another data point here.

Applied for the personal one 1/08....denied due to too many new accounts.

Applied for both personal and biz 5/14 as part of multi card churn.

Both were pending at first ,then few days later got the denial for the biz version "Too many new accounts "....

Few days after that I got the "Call to verify identity" letter regarding the personal version...so I called and verified some basic identity info and was told to wait few days for review.

Few days later I called the recon # to check application status and was told that it was turned down due to "Too many new accounts using same SSN/Address/Phone #"...the agent said that they used IDA agency and the reason for denial is not credit based (Credit score or credit worthiness? ) but rather identity verification reasons and advised me to call IDA to verify their findings ,I explained to the agent that I monitor my credit report regularly and all information are valid and I did open few credit cards recently based on my travel needs and would love to have this card as well ,the agent replied that they will review the application again and take my explanation into account for the reconsideration ....so "I wait"...again
