I have done also things like shopping around, Budget was cheaper in PHX than Avis. But as I walked by Avis they asked me if I needed a car, so I mentioned I am walking over to Budget as they are cheaper. Avis matched the price, added my BA number to it and I ended up getting the same price and Avios.
