Higher rate? That's assuming that the HP is at or near full capacity for those dates. Certainly if the price is good enough for a mattress-run, it is
very unlikely the hotel is anywhere near capacity (off-season). So, where is the down-side of the hotel making some extra revenue on a piece of real estate which will stay unoccupied regardless? They will even save on daily housekeeping and laundry costs, think of that as the NOP to their bottom line (vs someone physically staying every night and maybe buying a $8 sandwich from the FD
