That is not the OPs concern. If this is the issue Delta needs to hire more people to make sure the paying passengers are being treated in a humane manner. Delta charges high fares on many routes as has made money recently so maybe it is time hey actually invest in customer service. I know many professions who stay late without pay from medical professionals to teachers. This issue is comes from a lack of service oriented people running Delta.
