The big prize for Sobeys is not even the stores, it's the distribution centres to support the stores. Safeway has very good infrastructure on that side, it will help Sobeys expand and currently has excess capacity due to Safeways decline over the years. Throw in closing 1/3 of the stores it will allow them to focus on growing areas and be able to service them.
