CAI is a nightmare airport, in spite of the seemingly super-efficient Germanic appearance. Get there early and be prepared to bribe a porter to get your way through the security melee on entering the airport, and bear in mind that the guy doing the security scan will also demand a cut.
What utter crap.

Just enter CAI through the correct entrance where your bags will be x rayed, and you will walk straight into EY check in. Walk through immigration and make your way to a lounge. There are, in fact, several lounges on the second level. They are called 'British Lounge' etc. but actually have no correlation to which airline uses them. They are like a living room with couches, tvs etc. There are basic snacks and soft drinks.

Just outside these rooms there is a coffee shop.

You don't have to pay anyone throughout the entire experience.
