so, I just called citiband, and was told that I would be getting 40,000 points. I asked to speak to a specialist saying that my understanding was that the link I used to apply for the card was for 50,000 points. I was left on hold for about ten minutes, and then the same rep came on the line and she said that she had documented that I in fact had applied for a card with a 50K bonus, and gave me a confirmation number to that effect. (once again - thank you flyertalk!!!)
