MV to the city is about 30 minutes via the Bakerloo/Hammersmith & City tube lines. Done it several times recently.

And re hotels to the west, avoid the LHR Ren - it's a dump, long overdue a revamp and best avoided. Go to the LHR or Twickenham Marriotts instead.
