Out of curiosity, what would the cab fare be from GH to Paddington station? For the Heathrow Express tickets, I think we'll take it into London an pre-pay a return ticket. I see that there is a deal for two tickets return for a decent savings.
I've done the GH/Paddington quite a bit via taxi. It's usually 8-10GBP w/ tip. 12 would be the very max, but 8-10 is more the norm.
The other thing to consider, if you want to save some $$, is to take the Heathrow Connect rather than the HEX. HEX runs 4x/hour; HCon 2x (makes a few local stops, so takes 10 minutes longer to/from airport). HCon significantly less than HEX, unless you can find a promo for the HEX (check the UK & Ireland forum; they usually post HEX codes). HEX/HCon start/stop at same places.
