Acted rashly, now flying to LAS in Y

Cheeky UA charge £200 more for the same flights booking with the billing in £ as opposed to $, and I kept failing the cc verification since I don't have a US social security number attached to my american debit card, called up and the cost of the flights was $25 more, just taking me over my balance, the agent offered to waive the booking fee but the system kept refusing to let it process the payment. In annoyance went to BA, and ended up paying silly money for a Y ticket to LAS. My first longhall economy flight in a little while, and my first BA flight in a much longer while... I logged onto the manage my booking section to try and upgrade, only to be told "sorry this fare is not upgradable" but offering me a bargain of £1100 to upgrade to Y+

So, how bad is it going to be?? Are vegas loads usually high? Any luck with those £499 C upgrades on the day?

Actually debated paying the £30 to select my seats, but I can't figure out which of the 777s Ba use on the LGW-LAS route to check where to sit on seat guru
