Yeah, I meant it the other way round. It was Lloyds that wasn't very big (if it existed at all) in Scotland.

Was Midland very big in Scotland? I remember looking for an HSBC branch in Glasgow a couple of years after Midland renamed itself HSBC (it had been owned by HSBC many years before that) and asking around no one could tell me where one was, found one eventually.

It was weird to see something so commonplace in England so difficult to find in Scotland. I've noticed a lot more HSBC branches in Sotland since then, not sure if it's just because they've been growing or just that I notice them more now.
