Considering an award itinerary to NZ and OZ next April using UA points. NZ never puts J seats available for awards from the US to AKL, but I noticed on the UA site that I could fly EWR-YYZ-NRT on AC and NRT-AKL on NZ all in J (of course not EWR-YYZ). AC1 to NRT and NZ90 to AKL. I have flown in the VS seat several times to LHR so I know about it. Curious how the same type of herringbone configuration and the seats in general stack up. AFAIK, only the VS seat uses the opposite side for the bed config. How would you rate them?
