And I would suggest the opposite! LHR Ren is less expensive than Marriott, the exec lounge offerings are robust, and the lounge has the fantastic runway views. Downside is rooms are small & tired & due for a reno (ground floor has been reno'd), but for a quick overnight stay before a morning departure, LHR Ren is my 'go to' airport hotel. Staff is nice there. Don't know if they still do it, but last time I was at Ren as an elite I was offered a glass of champagne or o.j. at check-in.

I guess it depends on your preferences. I've stayed at the Ren 4 or 5 times and each time I kick myself since the rooms are so tiny, the bathrooms are usually not well cleaned, and the whole place is desperate for a renovation.
I agree that the front desk has been kind to me as well - champagne is a nice touch, however, I still prefer a clean, well maintained hotel.
