I did get caught out by this card thing once, buying vitamins from somewhere once the register rang up to about $650 since I didn't have a card, the woman behind me swiped hers instead and brought it down to about $250!
Beware of giving them all your personal info when signing up for those cards. You'll be getting calls from telemarketers and junk mail for the rest of your life. Give fake info -- just use a phone number you can remember -- in case you don't have the card with you they can look you up.
