I will be travelling to Europe soon, and italy will be my first stop. I was given a 500 euro note when I exchanged currencies at the local money changer, and I just found out how notorious these notes are, and that many merchants and shops in europe dont accept this note. Is this true in Italy? Is there any place where I will be able to break my bill into smaller denominations in italy? At a bank perhaps? I will be arriving at venice. Thanks!
