My wife is flying home tomorrow on United. 23 hours and 58 minutes before her flight, she gets an email from UA with a boarding pass (united.com shows her as checked in). We can't figure out how she was checked in for the flight. She was moved from an aisle seat to the opposite aisle seat, but otherwise everything looks ok.

When you check in for the outbound there is a checkbox asking if you want to be auto-checked in for the return, and this is the result.
