We are getting more and more difficult to get a reasonable room downtown these days. Occupancy rates have been touching 90% each month according to the local paper. Lots and Lots of corporate meetings here and they are booked well in advance so you need to plan really early for a reasonable rate here. January and July are our slow months so if you can stand a chill (cold by our standards) or the oppressive humidity, you can score some good deals.

I have not been in the brand new Holiday Inn but I do drive by it frequently. It is in a transitional neighborhood but from what I hear, it is really nice inside.
