No matter what??? The difference in cost of hotel in HK and Shenzhen is enough to pay for a limousine that takes you over to Shenzhen directly without having to get off the car at Shenzhen Bay.
I realize that as I've stayed in both cities many times. I prefer HK over Shenzhen and if I'm on a trip like that then sometimes being comfortable for an extra $100-150 USD for one night is worth it.
I'm not saying to stay in HK and travel to Shenzhen each day just the first night.
In the grand schem of things that is a small drop in the bucket when on a two to three week trip to Asia. Especially if its part of the budget to begin with.
