I'm trying to ticket a complex routing between India and the US at the moment. The best routing I can find with availability is 7 segments. I just had the routing shot down due to "too many segments," and was told that I could only have 5 segments (note that this is a one-way, so the SE Asia restrictions would seemingly limit me to 4 segments/3 connections). When I pushed back about this only applying to SE Asia, I was told that it's due to Air China (specifically the codeshare agreement) which I said made no sense
Currently on hold for round 2 after I subbed out the CA flights (get a better product now with LX, but the timings are much worse). Agent is conferencing with someone from MileagePlus and someone from the Round the World desk and going segment by segment to see what is preventing this from pricing.
I'll report back if I succeed at ticketing this itinerary (still 7 segments) in J.
