I think nowadays the only way for GLD or PLT elites to obtain the personalized AAdvantage luggage tags is to pass a million mile threshold in the new MillionMiler℠ program. EXPs continue to receive a set of tags each year upon successful requalification, and also when passing MM thresholds.

Of course, personalized AC tags are still available. It is interesting that the website below implies that ANY guests at an AC can buy the tags, not just paid AC members. I wonder if that is accurate. Could an AMEX Plat or QP member who is in the lounge buy the tags without holding paid AC membership?
