This is more and more an hotel for RAs who become upgraded and guests who pay for those suites. I know some kind of rooms from stays in the past years. Furniture and carpets tired, sanitary equipment desastrous, one time I had to change room because water came down from the ceiling.
Renovations have been postponed some times in the past years, owner changed, I think it is a Lebanese now. Grand Hyatt next door (Martinez) is going to be renovated for sure short term, Majestic Barriere has been since some time.
I am am of course happy if it doesn´t close, to be able to stay at Carlton Cannes on cash or reward stays, no matter, but I doubt that this situation can go on forever. Legends can die also.
I only had the sleeping room of the suite, not the living room. (still very very nice)
The told me that my assigned "regular" room had a strong cigar smell.
The hotel used to be Libanese (for about one year) but is now Quatar like the Martinez.
At the martinez they have a PH suite with outdoor pool , is there a RA equivalent at Barriere
by the way, I stayed less than 20 nights per year at IC, I'm not even an Ambassador, if I pay to become Ambassador, is it possible that the Carlton staff upgrade me to RA ?, or the hotels have no power on RA ,?
