Any driver in Thailand would be very happy to get a nice tip. In Thailand tipping is often not required, but it is almost always appreciated.
A nice tip to housekeeping each day is also a good idea.
Not if they're driving , especially , Evian or snacks/items you have bought for yourselves.
If unsure, ask them and observe body language , no may mean ' love to have but embarrassed to accept ' unless your regular chauffeur - usually gladly accept gratefully without any qualms.
This is not Japan .. But ASEAN - all different culturally / stages of development but similar in various aspects.
Have just returned from Thailand.
" Farangs " often insult unknowingly & spoil ' market ' with their ' kind ' generosity ..
When you get to know them , they will let you know politely.
Depending on the situation/ timing, I may give a Christmas present , lunar new year ' Chinese ' red packet with even numbered notes ( not 4 ) & such.. Especially at MOBKK or Amanpuri where I regularly stay
