In my opinion, EK is tacky and gaudy. Middle Eastern "throw a bucket of gold at the wall and see where it sticks" tacky. European rococo/Baroque tacky. No amount of service or food can make up for that.

SQ is too crowded. It's not an open, airy feel to the cabin. The previous poster used the word "cluttered" and I agree. The service is a bit too formal for me.

I happily will take LH F over EK, but SQ is a close second.
