An acquaintance and his firm are part of this group.
I got them to select BA for their regular J-cabin flight to Asia once and I am still hearing about the inability to select seats. They haven't flown BA since -- all (and I'm pretty sure it is all) other airlines ex-Italy will give free seat assignment to all business class tickets -- and they would be Golds with their frequent flying, but the shock was too much and won't book BA ever. As
lizban says, seat assignments are a highly emotional issue.
