I agree with Richard - $15 is way over the top. Tipping is not customary In Thailand and it is not expected even in luxury hotels. If you do feel you want to tip I'm sure a small amount like 100 baht - approx $3 would suffice.. I wouldn't even give a tip of $15 in the US or Europe.
