A few people who work at AC have told me that Moscow is of interest when the 787s come online. I also recall an article where an AC executive (possibly Calin) was quoted as saying it is on the radar.
Aeroflot pulled out of YYZ years ago and Transaero flies 2-3 times per week to YYZ from Moscow. With BMI gone, only connection is LH in FRA. Lots of Russians like to pay for J not to mention all the oil business. BA fills a 747 and two 767s per day from LHR with paid J and F. Pretty much always sold out...one of their most profitable routes.
