Cool that you stuck your ground.

Not sure I would blame Marriott. I would be leery of depending on a FS in over the overly friendly Kansas arranging me a critical cab ride let alone a SHS in the gritty immigrant overrun outer boroughs of NYC. Ask them for a number and arrange it myself, yes... Very likely your driver even lied about being the one "called".
