Okay, seriously -- if my check-in was extended by an hour and a half because five people were checking in dogs in this program, I'd be pretty PO'd, too, frequent flyer or not. I love dogs (though not cats), and I don't like it when they're put down. However, dogs are NEVER more important than people (except, perhaps to their owners), and I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to wait an extra one or two hours on a check-in line. If the airline limits the program to one pet a day, 20 minutes is certainly reasonable. Perhaps even 2 animals, at 40 minutes, might be reasonable. More than that? Absolutely not.

I hate it when companies do "charitable acts" at my expense. I'd applaud the airline if it organized one flight a year just to transport the unwanted animals. However, don't impose on my time and then say, "look how nice we are!"
