Two problems:

1. You might have a valid point if the SAG/AFTRA minimum class of air travel clauses weren't modified in 2010. TV & movie industry folk can now fly coach between LA and NorCal just like the commoners. Anyone who is A List has their own plane, their own jet card or would be on the corporate jet.

2. What regularly films in NorCal? What talent lives in NorCal?

And no, OC is not the center of the Universe but with 60 minute drive from Malibu or 40 minutes from Beverly Hills I am left scratching my head with the selection of Burbank.

Sure, Long Beach is just as far but at least you have 45 minutes to an hour for the Malibu/Beverly Hills crowd, are a stones throw for the Palos Verdes crowd and 35 minutes from an area which is conveniently served by only one airport with a large number of people that fly to NorCal on a regular basis due to large number of tech companies in OC.
