The hotel was offered and I assume you (OP) accepted it. Not many avenues to complain about after that - especially with a mileage run / status run - ie emotional support will be at a minimum when its obvious what you are doing . A longer gap between flights would have saved this problem. Even invol downgrades get zero compensation on the OWE and GE tickets.
