Earlier this year, Delta gave up 17 gates at MEM, and UA 1 (retaining just 1). There are plenty of gates for any carrier that wants to start service.
It's going to be quite a (confirming) blow to the MEM ego when DL has gone from ~240 to ~60 flights in six years and all other carriers combined likely won't have added 30.
The people around CVG know this feeling all too well.
