I'm been trying to find a tool that would avoid getting my luggage stolen in a moment of short distraction (like when checking in at a hotel or airport). I thought of something like a child alarm, which would go off if the bag is taken away. However, some forum members have pointed out that this could get annoying when the bag gets momentarily separated from me at the security check, for instance. For that reason, I was wondering whether there is something like a luggage strap that I could attach around my waist or wrist. I searched extensively in forums and Google and I could not find any product that would designed for that.

I know this sound paranoiac by I'm consular officer and I'm seen way too many stolen bags in the course of my work.
