i can't speak for your husband's condition but only from my personal experience

Those seats are fine for short hops (recently did the euro version with FRA-MXP and MXP-MUC) but maybe a little stiff for a full transcon.

But even that slimback is better than PMCO's park benches that I can feel the metal frame of the seat leaning against my spinal chord.
