I'm currently on the island, and it is raining buckets.

We did have an amazing snorkeling session on the house reef a bit earlier from the dusk jetty to the water villas. Saw tons of fish, sharks, and an eagle ray. No turtles spotted yet. It is not really possible to snorkel from the beach, as the waves are too strong and the entry very difficult. The snorkeling was quite a bit better than the best spots we snorkeled in Moorea and Bora Bora (which were already excellent in my opinion).
Occupancy seems to be very low, and the majority of guests are from Asia (every couple at the Dining Room this morning). We ate at the Island Grill last night and thought the food was phenomenal- easily the best food we've eaten at any resort. I can highly recommend the Lobster Thermidor.
The resort is incredibly quiet and although we've hit some rain, it was well worth the very long journey here. Service has been flawless so far and very genuine and personalized. I suspect low occupancy has something to do with it, as many staff members would engage in casual conversation directly with us. Looking forward to the rest of my stay and hope the weather improves.
