Good point. I will report that there. Yes, I was a bit disappointed about that... I don't know what their (The London West Hollywood's) policy is (certain room types/categories?), but there didn't seem to be any leeway in the matter after asking a few times.

We actually checked in quite late in the evening and checked out the next day and if the upgraded room was just going to be sitting there empty... well, I was a little surprised they couldn't do it.
