Mind you, it's a fine hotel, but if I can get the PHT, the Pen, or the MO for roughly the same price using my corporate rate, why would I stay there? Competition is stiff and they're missing that bit of the context.
And to add onto that, the Pen, MO, FS and Shangri-La are all less than the GHT right now. I love the GHT -- I've stayed there on every trip to Tokyo since my first one in 2004. But at the price point they're asking, the Pen seems like the clear win (and where I'll be staying). Not to mention that the GHT is getting a bit old -- what is it, maybe 10 years old now?
My last trip to the GHT (which was a while ago), I noticed that the club lounge had gone downhill a bit. If it's gone further downhill, not a good sign.
That said, the GP room-->suite upgrade is one of the greatest values I've ever seen. And I've always gotten excellent service and I love Fiorentina.
