Not dead but they should be...
We recently moved from the UK to the USA. Every survey bounced when I tried to respond. Eventually hear back from customer service that this is due to ip issues. They change my address - great I get a whole new list of reward partners and can start taking surveys again. So I take around 5-7 surveys in the first week, go to exchange my rewards but wait! Only restaurants.com showing as reward partner. I write to complain only to be told that my rewards are in line with the airline partner I joined with - that would be Avios who I think are absolutely nothing to do with restaurants.com. When I point this out to e-rewards the case is 'closed' everytime with no response.
When I complain I am told that the rewards are set in relation to my location, so we found it most odd then that when my wife changes her e-rewards account to our new address she has access to the whole range of rewards....
These people are simply lying, I actually logged in again tonight, and saw my full range of rewards had been re-instated. Yippee! (Don't hold your breath) - so I took 4 surveys, went in to cash out my points and .....you guessed it just restaurants.com is available.
This is a scam as it is totally misleading to entice people to take surveys for rewards they can't redeem. The thing they seem to have missed is in the UK we have this minor thing called "The law" and it's certainly going to affect them in the UK. I'm writing not just to avios but to every single one of their partners to explain my case, and to consumer services in the UK - their partners might not all listen but I bet at least one of them does, and I guess consumer services shutting them down in the UK may slow them down.
