Call back and ask for a manager. If a flight is delayed a DAY and they can't help you then their systems and/or staff are frankly pathetic. There are many 1 stop options they could connect you to. LAX, SFO, LAS, SAN, SEA, DEN, DFW, ORD,etc. Virtually any of their North American routes are easily accessible with one additional leg from PHX. It's inconceivable that seats wouldn't be available on a Tuesday. Waiting later in the day will reduce your options. Call back and politely, but firmly request what you want.
