Wife might be inclined to stay airside.

So if she arrives in Pier C or Pier A and has to go to Pier B for the connection, will she still have to go through Passport control and/or Security?

On the IOS map, I see Childrens play area in Pier B, is it any good or mainly for younger kids?

Is there any Lufthansa lounge at all that will allow to purchase 1-day pass like they do here with airline lounges in US?
