You seem to be missing the point that the GHT considers itself a
luxury hotel, where repeat business is well-recognized, either with upgrades or amenities or freebies or whatever. Offering June Jacobs junk and US-style service levels doesn't help that effort.
Mind you, it's a fine hotel, but if I can get the PHT, the Pen, or the MO for roughly the same price using my corporate rate, why would I stay there? Competition is stiff and they're missing that bit of the context.
