Yes, all my tickets in D with long layovers (more than 5) have been granted hotel. So I think you should get it too.

They use the SAMA SAMA Hotel. (Ex Pan Pacific) 5 stars or Business Class Pax, but this hotel is Malaysian standard. (I had a cockroach in my bathroom the last time I stayed; 5 weeks ago)

There are a few ways you can get the voucher. For me, it's usually 3. They decide for you which method depending on the city you are departing from.

1. At Malaysian airline office at origin
2. At the check-in desk at origin
3. At KLIA visitor centre

No. 3 can be tricky. It is AFTER immigration and baggage claim, just around where the Customs X-Ray machines are. It looks like check-in counters and there usually is a Malaysian Rep hidden (because the counter is quite high and they are Asian build) behind the tall counter.

Once outside, take the escalator down towards the right. There should be a sign saying "SAMA SAMA" buggy.

To confirm, call Malaysian call centre. Be prepared to hold for 10mins while they "apply and check eligibility"
