They should focus on the areas that will bring money on long-haul, and that is still the India-US route, Middle-East - US and Europe - Asia. They need to look at increasing operations in LAX, starting SFO and/or Vancouver, going to Dallas and/or Houston...

For Asia they can look at stopover in Jakarta, that is virgin territory for European carriers, and interesting stop en-route to Australia. They can also look at SIN, but that's alre, ady served well by BA/LH/SQ from Europe...
They already fly to Houston, Vancouver would be a good move as it has few flights to europe and asia. Only LHR, FRA, AMS, NRT, PEK, PVG, HKG, MNL, ICN, CTU and SYD plus a few seasonal charters to a few european cities.
