The Lincoln Center Sta. on the IRT (I still use old references) #1, southbound, seems to require multiple swipes for everyone--I even wound up paying an extra trip fare, when the "swipe at this turnstile" did not let me through. I swiped at another ts (which after multiple swipes) did let me pass.
I'm guessing that the agents are not cleaning the readers as often as they should.
