4 days in Alaska from Fairbanks
I started a new thread because most old threads talked of trips from Anchorage. I have booked flights to Fairbanks. reaching 7/4 at midnight and the flight out is on 7/8 at 1AM.
I have never been to Alaska and plan to fly to Anchorage to see the area south of ANC later. I would love to hear of more suggestions of things to see in Central Alaska. I have created a rough itinerary. keeping in mind that I would be traveling with my parents who are 60+ are would not be able to walk/hike much.
7/4 drive to Matanushka along Glenn-Richarson Highway
7/5 see Matanushka and stay the night in Anchorage (things to see). is it better to skip ANC and go straight to Talkeetna?
7/6 drive to Talkeetna, flight seeing, night near Denali
7/7 Denali the whole day shuttle+ small hikes and drive back to FAI.
Do you think this is reasonable? Should I add delete anything?
I think I am spending two whole days in my attempt to see sights along Glenn-Richardson highway and Matanushka. Should I skip it and add something else, maybe north of FAI?
Would love to get suggestions.
