I have to agree with those who bring up the cost-for-the-guest issue... A recent example:
1. Four Points by Sheraton in a mid-size university town. Room rate was $139 during the week. My All-American Breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes, coffee, juice) from room service cost $11 after all fees, service charges, gratuities included. Because of the price/convenience, I ordered it every morning of my stay.
2. FS Sheraton Suites on the outskirts of Atlanta. Room rate was $85 during the week (yes, $85-- and that's usually what it's around. Getting it for $79 this week, and not the prepaid rate!). Same All-American Breakfast, with exactly the same foods cost almost $25. Complete ripoff, and quality wasn't all that great.
For me, if it is reasonably priced, then I'll do it more often-- even though the company pays. But when a hotel is getting away with murder, I don't bite (no pun intended).
