For the first time in years, MrsNWIFlyer and I went away for more than a week or so on holiday in January. I'm usually pretty ruthless on keeping packing down to carry-on, but - knowing we'd be bringing gifts back with us - I just couldn't quite fit everything in to a small case plus laptop roller (the only cabin sized luggage we have) - and so transferred some to a larger case that I'd never actually used!

It wasn't particularly the waiting at luggage belts that was a problem, but the aggravation of dragging what I saw to be hideous bulk through the transport systems of various cities across the world - many of which had not heard of the concept of lifts or escalators! More than enough to persuade me I really didn't want to be doing that in a hurry again ...
