I'm always put off room service by the premiums charged by the hotels for the dishes....
The last hotel I stayed in....the Room Service Menu was essentially the bar food menu.... With around 20% on the price you'd pay in the bar, PLUS the room service charge and tip (tax included in price in Europe). Makes it a pretty expensive burger/ pizza/sandwich, and I'm a tightwad - if I'm paying restaurant prices, Ill go to the restaurant and have the full menu to choose from! On the other hand, the room service continental breakfast was provided free, so worth it to eat breakfast on a sunny balcony rather than a semi basement snack bar.
What does annoy me is the room service Charge as an extra....... It's a special menu designed to be served in a room, so why add another charge on top of an already enhanced price???
